Have you ever felt like those days, you simply are just too lazy to drive your car outside? Well SOCAR might have the solution for you as they are officially available here in our country.
SOCAR Officially Available In Malaysia
For those of you who don’t know, SOCAR is a car-sharing platform that allows you to book a car that suits your need through a smartphone application. The app, which was adopted from South Korea, will bring forth a new era of keyless driving (well basically your phone is the key) in Malaysia.
With SOCAR, it gives users the flexibility and the convenience of driving a car without being tied down to the commitment of actually owning one. Just by using the app, it allows users to book their car of choice with just a few taps on their device. Users can book a car for anything between 30 minutes to up to a week.
Registered members can book cars be it from the heavy traffic areas like KLCC or popular hangout spots like Bangsar or Damansara Heights. The company currently has 100 pick-up spots across the city with a total of 240 cars.
Some might ask where do they park if they are done using the car. To answer that, SOCAR has prepared designated parking spaces to help with that.
For safety assurance, every SOCAR reservation includes full and personal accident insurance for the time reserved to manage member’s safety expectations. If you have any trouble while on the road, you can just tap on their ‘Live Hotline’ function and that will prompt their SOCAR’s 24-7 Customer Support hotline number for emergencies.
Payments options will be made available to users upon registration. They are extended to both debit and credit card holders. Additionally, members can enjoy a Door-to-Door service, where your reserved SOCAR can be delivered straight to your desired pick-up and return location. It works similarly like a valet service, except you can choose where to pickup and return the vehicle. This service will cost RM5 and is currently available at Bangsar and Damansara Heights only.

Pokdepinion: I really hope that this app can get a good reception. Less car owners, less cars on the street (well I hope).
